When no one loves you find something they love instead!
This is a tactic normally used by established celebs and personalities who have been around for a bit and are either looking to make a comeback or desperately trying to remain relevant when it is pretty obvious that a new generation has come through and it’s time to change the tune.
The basic premise is that whilst you may not be interested in them you are interested in this new hot young thing or TV show so they do their best to get their name associated with them so they get into the same headlines and up their celebrity status again.
A prolific perpetrator of this act is the one and only Katie Price ‘aka Jordan’ ‘aka Loose Woman’ ‘aka the most headline hungry personality in the UK’
The press and the general public has a bit of a love hate relationship with Katie and she is classed as a classic ‘Marmite’ personality but, say what you will, she has an ability to keep herself in the headlines that no other person seems to manage when she puts her mind to it.
She can come out with some pretty outrageous headlines and ‘story lines’ as it is, based around her surgery and ex (or soon to be ex) husband(s). She has however managed to up the level of media hysteria by getting her name linked with some of the most trending people or shows on TV…
Each time these stories happened at the apex of the media frenzy around these shows so it catapulted her right back to the front of the queue.
This is a great way to get instant attention but more importantly to get the social following for whatever you want to be linked to to cross over and start following you so the 15 minutes of extra fame lasts a lot longer
Next time you hear a ‘celebrity’ suddenly talking about that new show you love or a rising star just think is it actually being done to get you to link the two of them together to make them seem more interesting?
