Lady Gaga is in talks to play Harley Quinn in DC's Joker 2 movie starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Warner Bros. and DC Films went in a surprising direction a few years ago by announcing plans for a Joker solo movie that did not involve Jared Leto's version of the character from Suicide Squad.
The Joker movie instead brought Phoenix into the leading role and is not part of the DC Extended Universe. Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker made over $1 billion worldwide and earned Phoenix an Oscar win for his incredible performance.
Now, it appears that Harley Quinn will be in Joker 2 and could be played by Lady Gaga. According to the report from THR, Gaga is in talks to play Joker's long-time comic book love interest.
Margot Robbie currently plays Harley in the DCEU, but now Gaga will have the opportunity to play the role in Joker 2 if a deal makes.
Gaga's Harley casting also comes with the news that the sequel is meant to be a musical.
