Andor's placement in the Star Wars timeline has been revealed. Andor is a spin-off prequel series to the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and will follow Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) throughout the formative years of the formation of the Rebel Alliance.
Tony Gilroy, who is a credited screenwriter on Rogue One and helped oversee the film's extensive reshoots, has also joined the series as showrunner and director.
